Video sampler, interactive video controller or interactive movie device, it was thought as an instrument to make dead singers sing again.

Controller:

A user interface developed with Processing is cast on a methacrylate surface.  A wiimote tracks an IR-LED pointer that the player uses to handle the user interface.  The wiimote then sends the tracking information via bluetooth to the computer, which processes the information and updates the user interface casted on the methacrylate surface.

Audio and Video Engine:

Old TV crooners, films and alike are used as audio and viedo source, and are managed with MAX/Jitter.

There are 3 audio engines running:

  • Vinyl: modifies speed and playhead direction of the sound file.
  • Sctretch / Pitch
  • Granular synthesis
